Winter weddings in Edinburgh
Winter (December, January and February) sets the scene for a truly romantic wedding at Norton House Hotel and if you are lucky enough to get a dusting of snow, your wedding photos really will look like a fairytale winter wonderland.
The light can be amazing for your wedding photography; by using fairy lights, candles and lanterns adorning our Scottish wedding venue, it will look spectacular. With colder weather your wedding party can accessorise with fur wraps, fluffy boleros or tweed suits or for a more dazzling look why not hold your wedding on New Year’s Eve. A perfect excuse for a black tie affair and party that lasts into the early hours.
With flowers in more limited supply during winter, you can embrace a more dramatic look and feel to your décor with bouquets and arrangements of Scottish Thistle, fresh holly, pine cones and frosted flowers. Of course, Christmas colours can set the theme for your wedding and our Ballroom makes the ideal luxurious setting for a festive banquet.

A winter wedding allows for endlessly rich dessert tables, hot cocoa bars, and copious amounts of comfort food. Your guests will not be leaving hungry or unsatisfied, you can offer them mulled wine punch with mini shepherds pie to nibble on, followed by a version of Christmas dinner and white chocolate mousse, mince pies or cranachan to follow. It’s the most wonderful time of the year – for a wedding!
