Hand Picked Hotels is delighted to announce Bailbrook House Hotel in Bath has been awarded two AA Rosettes, following the refurbishment and launch of the hotel in late 2013. The hotel’s much loved Cloisters Restaurant scooped the accolade following an AA inspection this month and brings the total number of hotels awarded two AA rosette status across the collection of country house hotels to 18. Hand Picked Hotels also boast a three AA Rosette restaurant in Scotland and a Michelin star restaurant in Jersey.
AA Rosettes are awarded solely by AA Hotel and Restaurant Inspectors with no influence from hotels, restaurants or other guides. The long-established and hugely prestigious scheme recognises successful cooking at different levels across the UK. Of all the restaurants across the UK, approximately 10% are of a standard which is worthy of one Rosette and above.

Set in 20 acres of private grounds, Bailbrook House Hotel is a 94 bedroom property comprising of the Grade II* listed Georgian mansion house offering 13 individual bedrooms with original features and Bailbrook Court offering an additional 81 classic and executive bedrooms. Cloisters, the hotel’s fine dining restaurant is set within the original basement of the Mansion House and takes full advantage of the stunning architectural features of the historic building. The restaurant’s ceiling, made of painstakingly restored Bath Stone, is a set of round domes supported by pillars whilst archways have been opened up to provide excellent views of the hotel grounds and City of Bath in the valley beyond.
Cloisters Restaurant at Bailbrook House Hotel is open from 7pm – 9:30pm Monday – Sunday and offers a number of delicious fine dining options along with traditional Sunday lunches each weekend. The restaurant’s exquisite signature dishes include Crab Tortellini in crab bisque, Lamb Cannon with spring heritage carrots and rosemary jus and Chocolate Fondant with candied pistachios and pistachio ice cream.
