If you and your loved one are planning a summer 2017 wedding, then you have plenty of time to make those all-important decisions – such as finding a venue, whittling down your guest list, sorting out suppliers and choosing your dress.
However how can you possibly know what themes and colours will be trending? Well, fortunately for you Hand Picked Hotels can give you a sneak preview of 2017’s hottest summer wedding trends.
If you want a country chic vibe, then you are in luck. Swapping your stilettos for cowboy boots may be taking things a bit too far, but predicted popular colours include latte brown, peach and white, as well as pastel yellow and grey, which can, of course, be extended to your wedding décor, the flowers, cake and even your make-up.
The Bohemian brides among you will also love the fact that Macramé is making a return. Those beautiful knotted wall hangings from the 1970s make for beautiful wall hangings or archways and add an extra layer of texture to your ceremony shots. Alternatively, you could make your vows in front of a giant woven dreamcatcher adorned with fresh blooms.
Fairy themed weddings are becoming more popular thanks to TV shows and films. It is a great extension of the shabby chic, bohemian style too, and can lend itself really well to woodland wedding ceremonies and garden receptions. It also allows the bride to be really imaginative when it comes to her wedding dress, decorative elements and even the food.
Talking of outdoor weddings, they are set to be big for next year, which is perfect for those who want a less formal atmosphere – it also means you can be a little more creative with your themes. Incorporating vintage bikes to hang signs off to direct guests to the reception, for example, can look both elegant and charming. You can also carry the theme through with a simple print design for the invites and napkins, and even replace the wedding car with a bicycle – great if you are on a budget, but also memorable, too.
If you do not want to make such a statement with your wedding theme, then why not use chalkboards? They can be decorated with flowers, ribbons and frames to look chic and trendy, and used as a welcome sign, to display order of events, the seating plan, wedding quotes or simply be used for your guests to write their well wishes on. It also makes for a great backdrop for photos.
If you do not fancy carrying your theme through to the invitations then vintage floral, antique lace, nautical and embroidered are all hot for summer 2017. Alternatively, print your couple selfies and turn them into a pick ‘n’ mix of save the dates.
With Bridal Fashion Week now behind us, we can also reveal the wedding dress trends for next year. If you want to break with tradition then why not go for a pastel coloured gown, or else fitted trousers? For brides who want to make a statement, skin baring choices such as shorter length dresses, plunging necklines or gowns with cut-out panels also featured heavily the catwalk and, better still, perfect for summer.
When you book your wedding with Hand Picked Hotels you can be as flexible as you like – whether it is a large civil ceremony, intimate or an exclusive use wedding we can accommodate you inside or out and ensure your every wish is met.
