Hand Picked Hotels champions ‘Jumping in a Puddles’ in the fight against cancer.
Hand Picked Hotels has pledged its support for Jumping in Puddles, a fundraising campaign raising money for Cancer Research. The aim is simple: to raise one million pounds by jumping in puddles.
What is Jumping in Puddles?
The campaign was started by Susie Campanella, Hand Picked Hotel’s Head of Publications based in Guernsey, when she discovered a dear friend had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Wondering what she could possibly send her friend after such devastating news and striving to turn something negative into a positive, she decided on a pair of wellies with a poster saying “When it rains too hard, go jump in puddles.” Her friends’ joyful reaction sparked the idea of Jumping in Puddles, which has already raised over £53,000 for Cancer Research at the time of writing.
In support of the campaign, Hand Picked Hotels is encouraging all of its team members and its guests to take part in any way they can. With many of our properties offering vast gardens and acres of grounds, those taking part will have plenty of picturesque places to get jumping.
How you can get involved
1. Jump – Pull on your wellies and jump in a puddle!
2. Donate – just £1 per jump will make all the difference
3. Nominate – encourage three friends, colleagues or family members to do the same
