Following their success in winning Yorkshire Wedding Co-ordinators of the year for the second year in a row we asked the team what it is that makes their jobs so rewarding!

Senior Sales & Events Co-ordinator
I have worked at Wood Hall for 15 years in my role as Senior Sales & Events Co-ordiantor. As well as co-ordinating weddings for my own couples I also enjoy providing guidance with the knowledge I have gained over my time at Wood Hall to my two colleagues.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
It is so rewarding when a couple become more like friends and you genuinely miss speaking to them on a regular basis. It's always lovely when they come back to celebrate anniversary’s, birthdays, and to show off new additions to the family.
What do you think a Wedding Co-ordinator can provide couples?
The expertise to guide a couple in the planning of their special day as we are lucky enough to have been involved in so many couple's wedding days. I am always conscious that this is often the only time they have planned an event on this scale.
What is your most memorable wedding moment?
A wedding couple let me in on a top secret for their wedding day, which involved me having to arrange for all the guests to be waiting at the end of our driveway as they had been told the Bride and Groom would be arriving in a pink Cadillac and wanted everyone to great them. The surprise was actually that they arrived by helicopter and landed on our large meadow in front of the hotel, the guests were surprised and delighted and it was memorable start to the day.

Sales & Events Co-ordinator
I have been working at Wood Hall for two years now and before Wood Hall I worked in number of roles within the wedding industry across different properties.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Wood Hall really is the most beautiful place - stunning surroundings, a characterful Georgian house and 101 acres to explore, even the winding driveway leading up to the hotel catches my breath on a daily basis when venturing into work.
What do you think a Wedding Co-ordinator can provide couples?
Having one point of contact up until the day of your wedding helps make the process much easier for couples as I am always available to answer questions no matter how big or small they may be.
What is your most memorable wedding moment?
I will always remember a couple who married in late Autumn who were both from a farming background and the way they incorporated this gave such a personal touch on their wedding day. They had a rustic theme using milk churns with flowers as centre pieces and a personalised pallet from their farm used as a table plan.
Lauren Angove
Sales & Events Co-ordinator
I joined the team at Wood Hall 1 year ago having previously worked as cabin crew with my most recent role being in the First Class Cabin for BA flying all over the world. Now I feel I provide a first class service to the couples I look after.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I really enjoy seeing all the upcoming trends and different ideas couple have. As I am also our social media champion I love recommending posts I have seen on Instagram and Facebook to couples and then seeing these come to life on their wedding day. I am also recently engaged and have booked my wedding at Wood Hall and love getting wedding inspiration from other couples.
What do you think a Wedding Co-ordinator can provide couples?
As a Co-ordinator based at one venue I feel I can bring the couple’s wedding day to life when they first visit and help them envision their wedding day. I can also recommend suppliers who know the hotel well and provide a high level of service to them.
What is your most memorable wedding moment?
My most memorable moment would have to be seeing the very first couple that I co-ordinated for with their beaming smiles walking back down the aisle after their ceremony having just said “I Do”, it did bring a happy tear to my eye!
