Explore exquisite food and a fantastic wine list to match and discover why they are at the heart of every Hand Picked Hotel venue.
Dining and entertaining is a key part of the Hand Picked Hotels experience, and we are extremely proud of the recognitions we have achieved. 16 of our hotels have been awarded two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence, while Grand Jersey has achieved three, which makes us the only collection of AA four star hotels in the UK to have been presented with this number of awards.
In order to achieve two AA Rosettes, attention must be paid to quality ingredients and at Hand Picked Hotels much of our food is sourced locally together with seasonal ingredients to ensure the purest flavour. What is more some of our hotels grow their own herbs and, in some of our properties, our chefs forage for wild produce or grow fruit and vegetables in the grounds.
We are also fanatical about great wine and our Chairman, Julia Hands, has been instrumental in bringing a personal touch to our wine list. With a diploma from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust, Julia is also a lay judge for the International Wine and Spirits competition and the knowledge and passion she has impaired means that guests can perfectly match their food with wine from some of the finest producers.
Prepared by an amazing brigade of chefs we offer fine yet informal cuisine throughout the day, from brunch to afternoon tea to a nine-course tasting menu, and paired with our stylish, relaxing surroundings, it all adds up to an unforgettable experience.
Perhaps one of our most beautiful is Cloisters Restaurant in Surrey. Serving traditional favourites with a modern twist in the grandeur of our Neo-Gothic inspired Victorian country house and spa, the unique artwork, stone carvings and other period features that are inherent to Nutfield Priory lend a classic feel. Set in in 12 acres of private land, it also affords breath-taking views of Nutfield Ridge, and the terrace offers the perfect space for alfresco dining.
Some of our hotels have more than one restaurant and one such example is Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa, which as well hosting our three AA Rosette restaurant Tassili – also has less formal dining options. Victoria’s located on the largest of the Channel Islands also offers a relaxed informal dining experience, providing the perfect brasserie experience whether you are catching up with friends, enjoying an intimate dinner for two or a traditional Sunday roast with the family.
With acclaimed Head Chef Nicolas Valmagna, together with award-winning service and seasonally focused and ingredient led dishes, we recommend booking the triple AA Rosette rated venues well in advance to avoid disappointment.
