Stanbrook Abbey Hotel, a landmark hotel located in the heart Worcester at the foot of the Malvern Hills, is celebrating a year with leading country house hotel group, Hand Picked Hotels.
Now a popular choice within the group for leisure breaks, the impressive Grade II listed Stanbrook Abbey Hotel is set within 26 acres of grounds which comprise manicured gardens, a flourishing orchard, a lavender garden and a pretty central courtyard.
Dating back to the early 16th Century and home to a group of Benedictine nuns only a few years ago, the building retains many of its original features, exposing history around almost every corner, with cloistered corridors, original stained glass windows, feature fireplaces and turrets and towers. At its core is an original chapel, the Callow Great Hall, and an impressive 100ft Bell Tower which offers far reaching views of the Worcestershire countryside and across to the River Severn.
With an abundant natural larder on its doorstep, Stanbrook Abbey offers guests and local residents a range of dining options, from its main restaurant Sister Charlotte’s which boasts fine seasonal cuisine, to the Piano Bar for classic Afternoon Teas and George’s Bar on the ground floor popular for light bites and cocktails with uninterrupted views of the front lawns. Private dining is also a key feature of Stanbrook Abbey with its plethora of function suites including St Anne’s Hall, The Bistro, The Bake House, original exposed brick wine cellars and a traditional games room.
The hotel has 55 individually styled bedrooms including 8 Feature rooms and Suites plus a separate, self-contained manor house connected to the main hotel, featuring an elegant drawing room, a cosy snug, a kitchen, four bedrooms and a suite with dressing room.
Gareth Davies, General Manager of Stanbrook Abbey commented “The hotel has a fascinating past which remains very visible throughout the building, yet the thoughtful design blends modern touches and contemporary features to make our guests feel at home. We are pleased to have welcomed so many guests - intrigued by our unique history and heritage - over the past year and look forward to welcoming many more visitors to our region.”
To mark the anniversary, Stanbrook Abbey has launched an exclusive offer which includes a celebratory three-course dinner with a complimentary glass of Prosecco, an overnight stay in an Executive bedroom and a full traditional breakfast the following morning priced from just £159 for two people. The offer is available to book throughout April for stays until September.
Gareth continues, “After a successful year fully integrating Stanbrook Abbey into the Hand Picked family and establishing it as a key leisure hotel within the group, I am delighted to launch our 1st Anniversary offer for guests to discover our fascinating hotel and its breath-taking location at even greater value.”
Visitors to Worcester, Malvern and the surrounding areas are drawn in by the great outdoors, the countryside and its waterways. Worcester’s attraction includes a wealth of historic houses, a steam railway, excellent shopping, food festivals, entertainment and premium leisure facilities.
Priced from just £159 for two, Stanbrook Abbey’s limited-edition 1st Anniversary offer is available to book until 30 April 2018, for stays until 30 September 2018.
