Hand Picked Hotels appoints Ignace Bauwens as Chief Executive Officer
Hand Picked Hotels (‘HPH’), a collection of 21 luxury country house hotels in the UK and Channel Islands, has today announced the appointment of Ignace Bauwens as Chief Executive Officer. Julia Hands – HPH’s Chairman and CEO – will be stepping down from the CEO position but will remain as Chairman.
As CEO, Ignace will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business, including the implementation of a number of core initiatives at the individual hotel level. His objective will be to make HPH the top collection of destination hotels in the UK and Channel Islands.
Ignace has over 30 years’ experience in leadership roles across a number of international hospitality groups. Throughout his career he has been responsible for focusing on quality, product evolution and managing large portfolios through challenging headwinds. In addition to his operational pedigree, Ignace brings a passion for restaurants and bars, having started his career in Food & Beverage.
He joins HPH from Corinthia Hotels, where he was Chief Operating Officer. Ignace was previously COO of Roya International in Dubai, and before that was at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts as Regional Vice President of the Middle East, Eurasia and Africa.
Prior to this Ignace spent 25 years in a variety of positions across a number of hospitality groups, most notably at InterContinental Hotel Group and ACCOR Hotels in Europe and the Middle East.

Ignace will join Hand Picked Hotels in December 2023.
