On Friday 27th September, the teams at Hand Picked Spa & Health Clubs took part in Macmillan’s largest coffee morning, raising £2,287 for the cancer charity.
Across the hotel group’s ten spas, the teams took to their aprons to bake, buys and sell biscuits, cakes, teas and coffees to the public and to colleagues.
Lesley Bacon, Group Health Club and Spa Manager commented, “As a group we are so proud to provide fundraising for Macmillan in aid of their yearly awareness day ‘Macmillan coffee morning’. At Hand Picked Hotels we always look at ways of supporting national and regional charities to organise fundraising events, host conferences and activity days. It’s so inspiring to see the team come together to make wonderful treats for such a good cause and are thrilled with the donations that has been achieved.”
Each team and surrounding offices provided home baked favourites such as rice crispy cakes, chocolate fudge sponge cake, healthy vegan cookies, coffee and walnut cake, raspberry ripple sponge and chocolate brownies all to purchase for a small donation.
Hand Picked Hotels works with national charities and supports local causes with cancer charities and children’s charities regularly taking centre stage. Upcoming events include ‘Wear it Pink’ day for breast cancer research and Red Nose Day for Children in Need.
